Creating your own website…

As a new author I wanted to create my own website. I wanted a tool that would make it easy for me to set up my website and promote my new book: The Leaf. I also wanted a website with a great professional presence. Especially now, that I am launching my name out to the world. First impressions are quite important.

There are plenty of options out there, but in the end I chose micosoft small business to launch my website. (http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/). It is easy to set up. It was really is a 1-2-3 get your website up and running in no time kind of a deal. Here is my own website: http://www.joannmrodriguez.net

Getting inspired! Starting my next book…

As I celebrate the fact that my first book: The Leaf, is released, I am now faced with a notepad with empty pages. I am looking at a blank slate that can become a new story, a new plot, a brand new adventure. I have written down a few ideas that will hopefully become into another book at some point. But for now, it’s all about jotting down ideas, dreams and, possible journeys.

Each author has their own way of starting a story, for me, my way of getting a sense of direction comes from creating a list. I start a list of events; created by my imagination, inspired by nature and dreams. This list becomes the backbone of the brainstorming process. Scribbles and notes are the first steps for me to write a story.

So here I am at the very beginning of a new journey, a journey that will start on a notepad and end in a draft. Then I will do some more brainstorming, and some more writing until the story is complete and, a book has been formed. Until then, I will be here writing my next adventure.
